Account credit
Credit we've put on your OrderDen bill, and how it comes off your next invoice.
Account credit is money we've put on your OrderDen bill. It comes off your next OrderDen invoice by itself. There's no code to enter.
We grant it as a goodwill gesture, to help with a move from another tool, or as an apology when we've got something wrong. You can't buy it or top it up.
Where to see it
Account & Billing → Payment method & invoices, which only the workspace owner can open. The card appears once there's credit or a history of it. It shows the balance, what it will do to your next invoice, and the latest 50 movements: what each was for, how much, and when.
How it comes off a bill
When your next invoice is finalized, we take the credit off the total before charging your card.
- Credit smaller than the invoice. $10 of credit on a $17 invoice charges $7 to your card, and the balance goes to zero.
- Credit larger than the invoice. $30 of credit on a $17 invoice charges nothing, and $13 stays for the next invoice.
Buying or removing a seat mid-cycle doesn't change this. A seat you buy is invoiced right away, and the credit comes off that invoice like any other.
What it isn't
- A payment method. It only comes off an OrderDen invoice, and it isn't a card on file.
- Cash. It can't be paid out, refunded, moved to another workspace, or exchanged.
- A plan change. It doesn't add invoices or seats. It pays for the plan you're on.
If you cancel
Credit left on the account stays there, and it doesn't expire. If you come back, it comes off the first invoice you're charged. If we granted credit by mistake, we can take it back, and that shows in the history.
On the API
GET /api/v1/billing/account-credit returns the balance and the same history
your billing page shows. See the API reference. It's read-only:
only we can grant credit.
